Donald O. Boulton, Sr., 76, of Burlington, died at 1:23 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Four Seasons Health Care Center in Fort Collins, Colo.

Born Feb. 23, 1923, in Columbus Junction, he was the son of Frank and Bonnie Beatrice Hopkins Boulton.

He married Joan Gerdom in 1946. She died in 1994. He married Theresa Menke Kopriva on Nov. 23, 1977, in Nevada.

Mr. Boulton was an Army veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He had been a heavy equipment operator for the city of Burlington and later owned and operated Don Boulton's Lawn Service.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10102 and the American Legion No. 52.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Boulton Jr. of Hillsboro, Ore., Steve Boulton of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Bradley Boulton of Burlington; one daughter, Leanne Litton of Fort Collins, Colo.; three stepsons, David Kopriva of Joplin, Mo., Chirstopher Kopriva of Everett, Washington., and Kevin Korpiva of Burlington; one stepdaughter, Kathy Kopriva of Seattle; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several step-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Boulton of Burlington; six sisters, Elizabeth Lott of Jerseyville, Ill., Shirley Ford of Long Beach, Miss., Peggy Dean of Burlington, Hilda Sadler of Keokuk, Anna Hayes of Illinois and Bonnie Boulton of Ottumwa; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and two brothers.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday at Hass Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Boulton will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Carl J. Engstrom officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery, Columbus City, with full military honors conducted by VFW Posts 10102 and 9162.

A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
