Floyd M. Boulton, age 88, of Wapello, died Thursday morning, September 29, 1988 at University Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.

He was born September 23, 1900 at Lone Oak Community, rural Columbus Junction, Iowa, the son of George W. and Florence Rickey Boulton. He married Hazel McIntyre January 18, 1927 at Wapello, Iowa. Floyd and Hazel farmed in the Cairo, Iowa community for many years, retiring in 1960 and moving to Wapello where they continued to enjoy their gardening.

Floyd was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wapello; a past member and past Master of the Wapello Masonic Lodge No. 5 A.F. & F.M; Masonic District Lecturer; member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 257, Wapello; member and Past Noble Grand of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 19, Wapello; a past Representative of the Grand Lodge of Iowa; and a member of the Wapello Derexa Rebekah Lodge No. 129. He had also served many years on the Cairo School Board as well as on the election board.

Floye Boulton is survived by his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Geraldine (Mrs. Oswald) Tollefsen, Tacoma, Washington, and E. Mary (Mrs. Lyle) Tompkins, Montezuma, Iowa; four sons, F. Burdette, Muscatine, Kenneth, Las Vegas, Nev., Ray and Don, both of Wapello; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Hanft, Columbus Junction and Velma Cutkomp, Columbus City; and one brother, George, Ava, Missouri.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vern & Lloyd, three sisters, Esther, Edith, and an infant, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Floyd M. Boulton were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the United Metodist Church, Wapello, with the Rev. Bill Young officiating. Music was provided by Kathleen Hagele as organist and Kristie Cummings as vocalist.

Honorary Bearers included Alfred Williams, Melvin Partington, Harold Boulton and Leonard Kerr. Casket Bearers were Tom Pogemiller, Dean McCulley, Ronald Cutkomp, Roger Cutkomp, Rome McIntyre and Dwight McIntyre. Flower attendants were Carla Grimm, Jean Hunt and Jolene Pogemiller.

Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery where burial rites were conducted by the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 19.

A general Memorial Fund has been established.

The family gathered to meet friends Saturday evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello.
