Earl C. Bennett, 86, Route 1, Columbus Junction, died Friday, January 12, 1990, at the Wapello Care Center.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Elmer Armstrong officiating. Mrs. Lois Houseal was organist. Casket bearers were Marvin Thomas, Herbert Newell, Lewis Dallmeyer, Keith Jordan, DeWayne Finke and Kenneth Tomfield. Burial was at the Indian Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Bennett was born February 6, 1903, in South Dakota, the son of George and Elizabeth Conway Bennett.

He was married to Alice Walberg, September 21, 1921, in South Dakota.

Mr Bennett had been a lifelong farmer in this area.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Rose Marie Hayes, Wapello, Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Barnes, Letts, and Mrs. Ron (Sally) Carpenter, Columbus Junction; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Ruth Dollman, Rockford, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his wife in July, 1977.
