COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Mary E. Bell, 89, Columbus Junction, died Wednesday Nov. 20, 2002, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stacy_Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Robert Patton will officiate the services. Burial will be at Columbus City Cemetery.

Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Columbus Junction Fire Department.

Mrs. Bell was born Jan. 8, 1913, in Eldon, the daughter of Orville and Carey Richardson Black. She married Leland G. Bell Sept. 2, 1933, in Wapello. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1967.

She was a clerk at the Your Market, Columbus Junction, for several years.

She liked crocheting, sewing and reading. She loved her children and granchildren.

Survivors include a son, Clifford "Mick" Bell and wife Juanita of Milton; a daughter, Elaine Peters and husband Robert of Davenport; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Delbert Black of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Gail Keckler.
