Leona Bell

Leona Ruth Bell, 83, was born February 9, 1899, in Unionville, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Lenore Prose Hopkins.

Her first marriage to Lester Goode took place July 14, 1926. They had two daughters; Marjorie May Massey of Columbus Junction and Jean Evelyn Jones of Ottumwa. Lester died December 16, 1961.

Her second marriage was to Lee Conry of Ainsworth too place on April 24, 1966. He died November 16, 1976. She married James Bell on November 29, 1981.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Senior Citizens, Old Clifton Club, United Methodist Women, Today's Federated Club, and the Farm Bureau Women.

Casket bearers for Mrs. Bell were Sam Hanft, Larry Hanft, Mike Massey, Keith Massey, Eldon Conry and Bob Conry.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Marjorie) Massey of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Jean Jones of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Lester Hopkins of Unionville; and one sister, Mrs. Earl (Opal) Purvis of Centerville.

Two brothers preceded her in death.
