Funeral Rites Held For Leland G. Bell

Leland Gordon (Mick) Bell, a well known resident of this community died Friday morning, December 15, 1967 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

He was born August 4, 1911, the son of Clifford and Maude Hetfield Bell and was aged 56 years, 4 months and 11 days.

Me married Mary Black, of Columbus Junction on September 2, 1933.

He was a trucker and mechanic and most recently was employed at Shellmyer Motors.

Surviving are: his widow, Mary; one son, Clifford G. of Waukee, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Peters of Davenport; one brother, John of Columbus Junction; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Howard E. Bell and one sister Margaret.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stacy-Lewis funeral home with Rev. Earl E. Josten officiating.

Music was by Donna Belle Hughes.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Edna Hoben and Mrs. Arthur Pugh.

Casket bearers were Harold Duncan, Richard Pugh, Arthur Pugh, Addison Hills, Raymond Pine and Robert Shellmyer.

Honorary casket bearers were W. W. Singleton, Harold Mewhirter, M.E. Fisher and LeRoy Thompson.

Burial in the Columbus City cemetery.
