James Alexander Bell

Masonic services for Jim Bell were held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 16.

The son of Stewart and Kate Lutz Bell, he was born November 10, 1896. His first marriage to Olive Delaney took place March 16, 1924, in Macon, Missouri. She died in 1974. He married Leona Conry on November 29, 1981.

Jim Bell farmed in the Conesville area until his retirement in 1975. he was a member of the United Presbyterian Church; the Columbus City Lodge No. 107 AF & AM, the Davenport Consistory, Kaaba Shrine, Senior Citizens and the Farm Bureau. He was a veteran of World War I.

Casket bearers for Mr. Bell were Carl Lee, Darrel Bell, Lester Hoback, Earl Murphy, Jack Dill and Harry Duncan.

Honorary casket bearers were Rolla Thornton, Ed Rechterman, Don Buckman, Lloyd Clark, Paul Lutz, Allan Lunsford.

He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Dale (Helen) Sheetz of Coralville and Mrs. Lacy (Virginia) Marten of St. Charles Missouri; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

One son, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
