COLUMBUS JUNCTION - James A. Bell and his wife, Leona, both 83, were found dead here Wednesday afternoon in their home at 1129 Oak View Drive.

Masonic services for Mr. Bell will be held at 7 p.m Friday. Funeral services for the couple will be announced later. Visitation begins Friday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home here.

The son of Stewart and Kate Lutz Bell, he was born Nov. 10, 1898.

His marriage to Olive Delandy took place March 16, 1924, in Macon, Mo. She died in 1974. He married Leona Conry in November 1981.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Helen) Scheetz of Coralville and Mrs. Lacy (Viginia) Marten of St. Charles, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

One son, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Leona Bell

His wife, Leona, was born Feb. 9, 1899, in Unionville, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Lenore Prose Hopkins.

Her first marriage to Lester Good took place in July 1926. He died in 1961. Her second marriage was to Lee Conry, who died in 1974. She married James Bell in November 1981. She was a member of the Today's Federated Club, the Odd Clifton Club and the Farm Bureau.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Marjorie) Massey of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Jean Jones of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; one brother, Lester Hopkins of Unionville; and one sister, Mrs. Earl (Opal) Purvis of Centerville.

Two brothers preceded her in death.
