Keith H. Beik, age 87, of rural Wapello, died Wednesday morning, Decempber 18, 1996 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. The son of Daniel and Cal Walker Beik, he was born September 18, 1909, rural Wapello.

He married Elfieda M. Bartenhagen on July 22, 1936 at Muscatine. He had attended the Grandview School. He was a farmer and a livestock producer.

He was the president and served on the Granview School Board for eighteen years. He was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Muscatine.

Survivors include his wife, Elfrieda; a son Bill and Sharon Beik of Wapello; three grandchildren, Kim (Mrs. Jay) Burkamper of Muscatine, Lora (Mrs. Michael) Rash of Minburn, and Greg Beik of Muscatine; four great-grandchildren, Libbey, Lauren, and Alec Rash, and Derek Burkamper, a sister, Nola Pine of Columbus City; and a brother, Richard Beik of St. George, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother George; and a sister Nadean Goodlander.

The family met friends Friday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Keith Beik was held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 1996 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Music was provided by Kathleen Hagele as organist.

Burial followed at the Grandview Cemetery. The casket bearers were Forrest Bartenhagen, Carl Bartenhagen, Lawrence Rowe, Everett Stapp, Bryan Hoben and Larry Beik. The honorary bearers included Russell Gast, Delno Stineman, Robert Murray, Robert Hook, Leonard Kemp, and Joe Kemp.

A Memorial Fund has been established.
