Gerald John Biek, age 83, of Wapello, Iowa, died Wednesday evening, October 13, 1993 at the Wapello Nursing and Care Center. He was the son of Hilton Harvey and Mabel Foxwell Beik, born on November 4, 1909 near Grandview, Iowa. He was a graduate of Grandview High School in 1928. He married Ethyl caldwell on June 19, 1935 at Morning Sun, Iowa.

He was a farmer. His memberships included the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello, the Louisa Lodge #19 I.O.O.F. of which he was a Past Noble Grand, and formerly a long time member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Ethyl; a daughter, Doris Harris of Grinnell, Iowa; a son Dale of Wapello; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one great-granddaughter; two nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Graham.

The funeral service for Gerald Beik was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 1993 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Young officiating. Betty McChesney provided the organ music. The casket bearers were Ronald Cross, Maurice Schmeiser, Kenneth McChesney, Paul Linder, Floyd Reif and Charles Laughlin. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery with I.O.O.F. rites.

The family met with friends Saturday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the First Presbyterian Church.
