Funeral service held July 25 for Mary Beck, 95

Funeral services for Mary L. Beck, 95, Morning Sun, were held Saturday, July 25, at Pierce Funeral Home in Morning Sun. The Reverend Randy Van Osdol and Diane Bishop officiated the services. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Miss Beck died at the Morning Sun Manor on Wednesday, July 22.

She was born to Henry H. and Fannie Davis Veale Beck at Breckenridge, Texas on March 15, 1886.

She graduated from high school in Texas and from Coe College in Cedar Rapids in 1907. She taught at Morning Sun High School from 1908 until 1911 and then taught for 37 years in Central High School of St. Louis, retiring in 1956.

Survivors include five sisters, Lavenia Davenport of Silver Spring, Maryland; Esther Belle Beck of Green Valley, Arizona; Marion F. Beck of Tempe, Arizona; Mildred Beck of St. Louis, Missouri and Margaret V. Hays of Morning Sun.
