MUSCATINE, Iowa - Peggy Ann Bean, 64, Muscatine, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Unity Hospital.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerry Kahler will officiate. Pallbearers are Greg Orr, Jim Nabor, Bob Eichelberger, Daryl Eichelberger, Bill Ford, and Doug Sajak. Honorary pallbearers are David Schmelzer Sr., Harold Freese, Ed Estabrook, Don Watson, Tom Howland, and Rogger Eichelberger. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-5 p.m Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Peggy Bean Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Bean was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Muscatine, the daughter of Elwood and Mable G. Lewis Law. She married Bernard Bean Nov. 29, 1959, in Aledo, Ill.

She was a member of Musserville United Methodist Church and belonged to the N.Y.E.P. club.

She was a nurse's aide at Muscatine General Hospital and Lutheran Homes and most recently she had worked at Wal-Mart. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army. She was proud of her grandchildren. She loved to camp and write poetry.

Survivors include two sons, Harry "Mike" Bean and wife Shannon and Brad Bean, all of Muscatine; her mother; special friend, Larry Ford of Muscatine; five grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Law and wife Pat of Brooklyn, Bill Law and wife Margaret Ann of Muscatine and Don Law and wife Beverly of Des Moines; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, and an infant son, Richard.
