Stephen L. Bausch, age 92, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died October 9, 1999, at his home.

Stephen L. Bausch was born September 25, 1907, in Cumberland, Wisconsin, the son of Adolph and Mary (Renshaw) Bausch. He married Mae Adeline Male September 7, 1930. She preceded Stephen in death in 1974. Stephen later married Sally Duffy November 29, 1974, in rural Hampton, Illinois.

Stephen had been a life long farmer in the area. He also graduated from barber college and had attended Bible college. He was a member of the Hope (Independent) Bible church, Columbus Junction.

Survivors include his wife, Sally, Columbus Junction and his fourteen children. They are: Hope (Bob) Niffenegger, Louisville, CO; Ruth McConnell, Sierra Vista, AZ.; Ronald (Claudette) Bausch, Golden, CO; Douglas (Janet) Bausch, Moline, Il; Lester (Fern) Bausch, Columbus Junction; Stephen Bausch, Jr., Coralville, Iowa; Gary (Joyce) Bausch, Columbus Junction;
Joyce (Leonard) Johnson, Waco, TX; Carol (Leonard) Chatfield, Columbus Junction; Marilyn (Jack) Percy; Sebring, Fl.; Phillip (Faith) Bausch, Winona Lake, IN.; Lawrence Bausch, Wapello; Jarrold (Lindy) Bausch, Jewitt City, CN; Susan (Edward) Sturgis, Harrisonville, NJ.

Also surviving are two step-children, Donald (Vicki) Duffy, East Moline, Il. and Ralph (Sara) Duffy, Columbia Station, Ohio. There are seventy-three grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Also surviving is a brother, Maurice Bausch and wife, Mary, Cedar Rapids and a sister, Irene Clark, Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adeline; three sisters, Grace Hanson, Hazel Alcorn, and Marva Wyatt; and two brothers, Clarence and Clyde Bausch and one great-great- granddaughter.

Funeral services were held today at the Hope (Independent) Bible Church in Columbus Junction. Pastor Ken Rathbun and Pastor Walden Askren officiated. Mrs. Betty Chatfield was organist. Casket bearers were grandsons. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home for the church and the Washington Hospice Program.
