Harold Dean 'Herb' Beeding, age 62, formerly of Oakville, died Saturday evening, Oct 27, 2008, at the home of his sister, Anna Moore in Wapello. The son of Clarence Melvin and Helen Luella Wheeler Beeding, he was born on November 7, 1945 at Port Louisa, Iowa.

Herb married Barbara Miller on July 7, 1968 and later married Missy Scoggin on September 18, 1980.

He surved in the US Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. Herb was a Dozer operator and mechanic in heavy equipment construction working for several companies.

Herb did mechanic work for lots of friends in his spare time as he would always be tinkering on vehicles. He loved fishing, hunting, mushrooming, and spending time with his friends while playing cards or having fish fry's or turtle fry's. He loved kids.

He is survived by a son, Bradley & Amy Beeding of East Moline, Illinois; two daughters, Donna Beeding of Rock Island, Illinois and Diana Gasper of LeClaire, Iowa; three step-children, Billy Scoggin of Eolia, Missouri, Larry Scoggin of Iraq, and Michelle Scoggin Maybry of Clarksville, Missouri; three granddaughters, Olivia and Gracie of LeClaire and Samantha of East Moline; seven step-grandchildren of Missouri; three brothers, Clyde 'Pete' Beeding of Muscatine, Bill Beeding and Jerry Beeding both of Wapello; five sisters, Stella Foster, Beverley Spitznogle, Bonnie Oberly, and Anna Moore all of Wapello and Evelyn 'June' Clayton of Letts; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Omer, Ronald, and Terry Beeding, and three sisters, Vivian Foster, Alice Hamilton, and Helen 'Florene' Wixom.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Wapello Cemetery with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating and the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166 providing military rites.

The visitation with the family meeting friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello.
