Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa--Rosetta Bass, 83, Columbus Junction, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Colonial Manor.

The Rev. John Brown will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Jim Barnhart, Tom Barnhart, Terry Westaway, Jay Maceachern and Larry Johnson. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. Online condolences for the Bass family may be left at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mrs. Bass was born May 27, 1921, in Muscatine county, the daughter of Frank and Grace Boggs Barnhart. She married Jesse George Bass Feb. 3, 1946, in Conesville.

She was a homemaker all her life and a very active member of the Fruitland Baptist Church.

She was employed by Kauffman Grocery, Conesville; the Tomato Canning Factory, Columbus Junction; and the Columbus Junction Community Action for nine years. She did home care for many in the Columbus Junction and Conesville area for many years. She also baby-sat many children in her home.

She enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Lowell Robert Bass and wife Julia of Muscatine; a grandson, Todd Bass and Paige Kerr of Morning Sun; a granddaughter, Julie Tate and husband Rob of Ainsworth; two stepgrandchildren, Bethany Cook and husband Mark and Corey Mier, all of Muscatine; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lee Barnhart of Muscatine; and two sisters, Lillian Cotcamp and Dorothy Johnson and husband Bill, all of Fredonia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter-in-law, Jeannene.
