Services for Jesse Bass held on Saturday, May 2

Jesse G. Bass, 58, Granview, died Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 1981 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. LaVerne Hubbard officiated. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home.

Jesse was born on September 6, 1922 in Quincy, Illinois, son of Orville and Nellie Appleby Bass.

He married Rosetta Barnhart on ________________ rural Conesville. He was a member of the Fruitland Baptist Church and the VFW of Columbus Junction. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. Mr. Bass had been in the plumbing and heating business in Grandview for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Lowell of Grandview; two grandchildren; one brother, Frank of Toolesboro; a half-brother, Raymond Ohman of Muscatine; and two sisters, Mrs. John (Louise) MacEachern and Mrs. Donald (Amy) Westaway, both of Conesville.
