William Bartenhagen Died At Muscatine

William Bartenhagen died at 5:30 a.m. June 4, 1966 at Muscatine General Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Bartenhagen, a retired farmer had been a Muscatine resident since 1905. He was born March 21, 1882, at Hamelwarden Moor, Germany, the son of Peter and Rebekka Steffen Bartenhagen.

He was married November 24, 190_ at Muscatine to Emma Friedrick. She preceded him in death. He was married in June 1946, to Pauline Friedrick Wendlandt.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran church.

Surviving are two sons, Henry Bartenhagen of Wapello and Walder Bartenhagen of Columbus Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Ella) Schmidt of Syasset, New York and Mrs. Keith (Elfrieda) Beik, of Wapello; one brother, John Bartenhagen of Muscatine; and a sister, Mrs. Marie Junke__ of Germany; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death bty two sons, two brothers, three sisters and his parents.

Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich funeral home.

Rev. James Engel officiated. Mr. Floyd Scott was organist.

Casket bearers were William Bel_, Carl Bartenhagen, Forest Bartenhagen, Fred Petersen, Keith Grouwinkel and Clarence Bartenhagen.

Burial was at Greenwood cemetery.
