Mrs. Hila Edna Anderson, 96, grand mother of E.D. Woodruff Jr., and sisters of this city, died at the Lutheran Home at Muscatine, Sunday at 2:00 a.m. She had been ill five weeks.

She was born June 4, 1869 in Washington County to Israel and Sarah Rumble Davis. She was raised at Keota, Iowa and graduated from Keota High School in 1888.

She married William Harvey Anderson February 17, 1892. The couple farmed many years northwest of Washington.

She was a member of the Golden Age Club of Washington and the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Roscoe D. Anderson, Muscatine and Theodore R. Anderson, Birmingham, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Boshart, Moline, Illinois; Mrs. Geraldine Houseal, Muscatine; and Mrs. Wilma Hoyle, Calona, Illinois; one brother, Con. I. Davis, Keota; one sister, Mrs. Maude Flemming, Wellman; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Her husband died November 12, 1950; and two daughters also preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home, Washington. Rev. M.O. Smith officiated. Burial at the Keota Cemetery.
