Charles A. Anderson, 88, Crawfordsville, formerly of Columbus Junction, died at his home Tuesday, Sept. 8, following an extended illness.

Services were Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Johnson of the Crawfordsville United Church officiated. Donna Belle Hughes was organist. Pallbearers were Max Kongable, John R. Anderson, Donald Anderson, Perry Anderson, Arnold Jennings and
Cecil Linder. Burial was in the Winfield Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was born June 6, 1899 at Morning Sun, a son of Peter and Annie Casten Anderson. His marriage to Zella Harter took place March 4, 1930 at Burlington. She died April 21. He was a member of the Good Faith Masonic Lodge No. 235, Winfield. He was a former custodian at the Columbus Community Schools and the Columbus Junction State Bank.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marshall (Billie Jo) Rose, Crawfordsville; two grandchildren; one brother, Ted Anderson, Winfield; and one sister, Callie Johansmeyer, Ottumwa.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers and four sisters.
