George Kemper, 94, died at his home in Wapello at 11 p.m. May 27.

A retired farmer, he was born in Muscatine County on Feb. 3, 1862, the son of Henry and Charlotte Weinberg Kemper. He was married to Mary Priebe at Burlington on Nov. 9, 1898. She survives as do two sons and two daughters; George W. Kemper, Sharon, Pa., Oscar Kemper, Wapello; Mrs. Alma Swank, Wilmington, Dela., and Mrs. Dorathea Schmitt, of Prairie City.

Eight grandchildren also survive. Six brothers and a sister died previously.

The body is at the Dudgeon Funeral Home.
