Clark C. Alterkruse, 81, died at 10 p.m. Saturday at his home on Rt. 5.

Mr. Alterkruse was retired, and had farmed his entire life in 76 Township

He was born here July 14, 1884, the son of R.J. and Alice White, Alterkruse.

He married Jan. 3, 1907, at Letts, to Leora D. Reddick, and was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Leora Alterkruse of Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Irma) Freund of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Clement (Lorene) Ryrne of Letts; one sister, Mrs. Ida Scott of Campbell, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Harland.

The body is now at the Fairbanks Chapel. Rev. Edwin Frohardt will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral Home. Interment will be at the Letts Cemetery.
