Muscatine Journal, April 6, 1948.

Funeral services for George Washington Reddick, 81, a resident of Louisa County since he was eight years old, were held Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Lundquist of Davenport officiating, from the Dudgeon Funeral Home in Wapello. Burial was made in the Wapello Cemetery. He died Saturday at Hershey Hospital, Muscatine.

Pallbearer were Frank Greiner, John Holliday, Charles Wilson, Robert Wilson, Frank Ross and Alfred Bohling.

Mr. Reddick, the son of William H. and Rachel Stahl Reddick, was born July 7, 1866, near Locust Grove, Ohio. He came to Iowa at the age of 8 years with his parents, who settled in Louisa County which has been his home ever since.

In May, 1893, he married Miss Della Shaffer, of Wapello. She survives and the following children; George Clayton, Illinois City, Ill.; Harold DeWayne, Muscatine; Jessie Tisor, Toolesboro; Cleda Chapman, Lone Tree and Edward Lee, Beaver City, Neb. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs, Clark Alterkruse of Muscatine and three brothersw, Jackson Reddick, Keosaqua; Frank of Iowa City and Merritt, of Rockford, Ill., 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters, three brothers and a sister.
