Dwight Wayne McIntyre, age 70, of 9321 Co. Rd H-22 also known as the K-Road, Mediapolis, was killed in a tractor accident on his farm on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. He was born on the family farm on April 30, 1938, the son of Raymond 'Bud' and Josephine Hunt McIntyre.

Dwight enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren, Danielle, McKayla, and Brendan. He married Carol Jean Person on April 30, 1966 at the Fairview Church. They have made their home on the K-Road for the last 37 years. They have two children, Wayne and his wife Cathy of Oakville and Lori who shares the home with her parents. He has a brother, Rome McIntyre of Peoria, Illinois and an aunt, Gertie Cassabaum who lives on his parents' farmstead. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Ann Vahle; aunts and an uncle.

Dwight went to the Fairview Country School and graduated from Wapello High School in 1956. He had served in the US Army during the early 1960's. He worked for Louisa County driving a road grader before going into farming with his father. He took his family for many summer vacations to Elkader to go trout fishing along with special friends Ron and Carolyn Tisor. He was a man who never knew a stranger and he always had a smile on his face and an easy laugh. He enjoyed gradening, picking blackberries, and canning vegetables. He had attended the Fairview Church and was a member of the Farm Bureau.

The funeral ceremony for Dwight McIntyre will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello with Rev. Beth Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, rural Wapello.

Friends may call after 2:00 PM on Friday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the faily will meet friends fro 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Memoral Fund has been established for the benefits of the Wapello Community Ambulance Service and the Kingston United Methodist
Church.
