On Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008, the angels took Wanda Lou Marshall, age 77, of Wapello to a greater place. Her love of family will be greatly missed. She was the daughter of Jack and Mary Sellers Lihs and was born on March 26, 1931 at Cairo, Iowa. She married Billy George Marshall on April 1, 1950 at Grand Junction, Kansas.

Wanda graduated from Wapello High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband at the Hyway Pantry, Colonial Daycare, Dairy Bar, Laundromat, and the NAPA store all in Wapello.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wapello and the UMW for thirty years with the Mary Circle. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of the Glenn Allen Post 5166 at Wapello and had served as a President and Vice-President of the American Legion in Germany for three years. She had also been a Girl Scot and Boy Scot Leader.

She leaves behind her husband of 58 and a half years, Billy George; two daughters, Diana & David Foor of Wapello and Debbie & Don Hollingsworth of Wapello; a son, Billy & Cindy Marshall of Wapello; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Lowary of Stratford, Iowa and Baja Brown of Princeton, Iowa; and two brothers, Jackie Lihs of Winfield and Donnie Lihs of Columbus Junction. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pat Samuels and Shirley Leasch; and a brother, Dean Lihs.

The funeral ceremony for Wanda Marshall will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 29, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

A memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Wanda leaves a lagacy of hope and love to all
whose lives she has touched.
