Nellie Leona Tomson, age 67, of Wapello, died Saturday morning, May 10, 2008, at her home. The daughter of William 'Bill' and Ada McDaniel Feikert, she was born on June 2, 1940 at Bushnell, Illinois. She married Paul L. Tomson on May 5, 1957 at Burlington.

Nellie had worked at the Blue Bell factory at Bushnell, Sylvania at Burlington, the Wapello Nursing Home, and then retired with 27 years from Thatcher Plastics at Muscatine.

She enjoyed camping, gardening, and the many family activities. She was an avid collector of Beanie Babies, pencils, magnets, and Tolls, Etc.

Her family includes her husband, Paul; three daughters, Phyllis & Omar Connolly of Wapello, Gale & Bob Barrick of Wapello, and Judy Strahan of Galesburg, Illinois; a son, Joe Tomson of
Wapello; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Anna & James Blythe of Burlington, Jane & Don Carnes of Media, Illinois, and Verna Lantz of Bushnell, Illinois; and two brothers, Harold & Sharon Feikert of Bushnell, and Lloyd & Joyce Feikert of LaHarpe, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Alice Ackman, Betty Bowman, Doris Stanley, Coralina StClaire, Dale Feikert, Hazel Mae Feikert, Olive Bertha Feikert, and an infant.

Funeral ceremony for Nellie Tomson will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery.

Friends may call after noon on Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello where the family will meet friends from 7 to 9 PM.

A Memorial Fund has been established.
