M. Sue Trafton, age 63, of Wapello, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, at her home. The daughter of Virgil D. and E. Mearl Hanners McGraw, she was born on September 15, 1944 at Sedgewickville, Missouri. She married D. Keith Trafton, Sr. on July 17, 1966 at Sedgewickville.

Sue graduated from Oakridge High School, Oakridge, Missouri, in 1963. She was a homemaker and had done babysitting and was a cook at the Jack & Jill Foods and at the Tomahawk restaurant both in Wapello. She was a member since 1955 of the Sargent Chapel at Sedgewickville.

She had served as a Cub Scout Leader for several years and a 4-H Leader for more than ten years. She loved her family and God and enjoyed gardening. She was known for her friendliness and sense of humor, also as a volunteer and especially as a wonderful cook. Sue was a Hawkeye and Cardinal fan and a faithful fan of her grandchildren.

Sue is survived by her husband, Keith; a son, David K. Trafton, Jr. and his wife, Mandy of Gladstone, Illinois; two daughters, Nancy Susan Trafton of Morning Sun and Robin Trafton of Burlington; eleven grandchildren, Jay Rudisill, Troy, Jonathon, Stephen, Landon, and Shelby Trafton, Josh and Marshanna Conwell, and Kaylynn, Adam, and Eric Rudisill; a brother, Frank McGraw of Hamilton, Illinois; three sisters, Jean Bucher and Dixie Weith both of Perryville, Missouri, and June Kiefer of St. Ann, Missouri; and special friends, Jim & Laurie Rudisill of Wapello. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Wilma McGraw; and three brothers, LoyRay, Larry, and Kenneth McGraw.

The funeral ceremony for Sue Trafton will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello. Rev. Eugene Bryant will officiate and Nancy Trafton will share memories of her Mother. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery.

Friends may call after noon on Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Great River Hospice.
