Barbara Jo ‘Barb’ Tillmann, age 46, of Wapello, died Wednesday afternoon, August 20, 2008, at the Unity Hospital at Muscatine. The daughter of Roy ‘Mick’ and Mary Ellen Pallischeck Carney, she was born at Muscatine on October 22, 1961. She married Randy Tillmann on July 24, 2004 at Nashua, Iowa.

Barb graduated from Columbus Community High School in 1980. She received her LPN degree from Scott Community College in Davenport. She was a nurse and a pharmacy technician having worked at the Colonial Manor at Columbus Junction, the Lutheran Homes at Muscatine, and the HyVee Pharmacy at Wapello and Columbus Junction.

She enjoyed fishing and cooking and NASCAR, specifically Mark Martin. Barb was known for her sense of humor and was great with the elderly.

Barb is survived by her husband, Randy; a daughter, Layne Wheeler & fiancé Adam Bell of Kalona; a sister, Tracey Carney & fiancé Harold Whitlow of Wapello; a brother, Jeff & Kim Carney of Roscoe, Illinois; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerry and Joey; and a sister, Jareen ‘Ann’ Carney-Aimes.

The memorial service for Barb Tillmann will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello with Pastor Ramona Wink officiating.

Friends may call after noon on Saturday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Friends and family will gather for a meal at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall after the service.

A Memorial Fund has been established.

Barb’s family is proud that she was an organ donor through the Iowa Donor Network. The family also wishes everyone to come in casual attire.
