ALICE V. LATIMER
Alice V. LATIMER, 70, of Muscatine, died Friday, February 3, 1995, at the Muscatine Care Center.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Geo. M. Wittch-Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine with Rev. Christine A. Tinker of the United Church of Christ in Wilton officiating. Casket bearers were Scott REID, Quincy LATIMER, Rob NEWMAN, Tracy LATIMER, Jason LATIMER and Toby LAMB. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine.
Mrs. LATIMER was born February 2, 1925, in Manchester, Tennessee, the daughter of George W. and Willie Mae CRAFTON-VANDYGRIFF. She married Virgil LATIMER on February 20, 1941, in McMinnville, Tennessee. They moved to Muscatine in 1945.
She had been employed with the Homer-Dean Button Company and the Rocher-Musser Company, and also worked at Ceelon which later became Thatcher Plastics.
Surviving are her husband; four sons, Virgis W LATIMER of Durant, Keith, Charles Edward and Michael LATIMER, all of Muscatine; three daughters Georgia REID and Helen NEWMAN-SKUBAL, both of Letts and Roxanne LAMB of Muscatione; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, two brothers Cecil VANDYGRIFF of Muscatine and L.C. VANDYGRIFF of Manchester, Tennessee, and three sisters, Pearl ZAEHRINGER and Betty NEWMAN, both of Muscatine, and Bell FARRAR of Manchester, Tennessee.
She was proceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law.
