Ruth Adeline Smith of Letts dies

Mrs. Ruth Adeline SMITH, 82, of Letts died at Colonial Manor February 7. She had been a resident there for several years.

She was born February 18, 1900, at Columbus City, the daughter of Harry and Rena SIPE-PRATT. She attended Columbus City grade school and graduated from Columbus Junction high school.

She married Tracy HENDERSON who preceded her in death. She later married Daniel SMITH December 24, 1926 and he died in 1963.

Mrs. SMITH was a member of the Letts United Brethren Church and the Women's Society of the church. She also was a member of the Letts Garden Club.

Surviving are a son, Raymond SMITH of Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Betty Jean) ROWE of Letts; a step daughter, Mrs. Harold (Merle) SCHABILION of Columbus City; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John (Martha) PRETZ of Columbus Junction. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Henderson; three grandchildren; and two sisters.

Funeral services were held February 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Fisher of letts officiating. Organist was Mrs. Donald Pittman. Casket bearers were Stephen ROWE, Robert PRETZ, Joseph SMITH, Roger PRETZ, Donald PRETZ, Keith PRETZ and Vaughn PRETZ. Burial was in Columbus City Cemetery.
