J. Russell GREENE dies in Iowa City

J. Russell GREENE, 57, of Route 2, Washington, died Monday morning, November 16, 1981, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Services were held Wednesday, November 18, at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Faris and Rev. Orrin Potter officiated the service. Donna Belle Hughes was the organist. Casket bearers were Roy Hauenstein, Paul Lowe, Robert Lowe, William Fulton, Richard Utter, Bill GREENE, Don Schnell and Charles Jenkins.

The son of Faye and Mary ORRIS-GREENE, he was born August 27, 1924, in Columbus City.

His marriage to Joyce BORCHARDT took place August 7, 1949, in Ames. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a 1949 graduate of Iowa State University and was retired from Agri-business.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald of Iowa City, Jeffrey of St. Louis and Larry of Muscatine; one grandchild; his mother, Marie GREENE of Columbus Junction; one brother, Robert of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Roland (Loris) WALKER of Sacramento, California.
