FOSTER, 80 dies June 7

Mrs. Viola Lucille FOSTER, 80 of rural Columbus Junction, passed away at the Long Term Care in Washington June 7, 1985.

She was born February 7, 1905, east of Columbus Junction, to Egebert and Magdalena BLANKENHOR-SHELLABARGER.

She attended Pleasant Grove Bethel Church and schools of Louisa County. Gifted with musical ability, she taught music several years prior to her marriage to Harlan A. FOSTER February 12, 1927. Her talents were shared in church work, 4-H leadership and many other community affairs as long as her health permitted.

In February 1977, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Foster home east of Columbus Junction.

Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Evelyn) SAMUELS of Morning Sun and Mrs. Romie (Violet) DAVIS of Crawfordsville and two brothers, Charles E. SHELLABARGER of Conesville and Harold H. SHELLABARGER of Columbus Junction.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stacy-Lewis Chapel with Rev. Elmer A. Armstrong officiating. Cecil Schlichting was organist and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chatfield were vocalists. Flower attendants were Patricia Jones and Carla SHELLABARGER. Casket bearers were Gary SAMUELS, Keith Jones, Charles Niles SHELLABARGER, Harlan Johnson, Jack Estle and Lee Allen FOSTER. Burial was in Indian Creek Cemetery.
