Harvey McKINNEY Called by Death

Harvey McKINNEY, 82, long-time engineer for the Muscatine-Louisa drainage district died at the Poage nursing home at Wapello at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 1959.

Last rites were conducted at the home at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial was in the Wapello cemetery.

Mr. McKINNEY was the son of William and Rachel ODLE-McKINNEY and was born October 17, 1877 at Lucasville, Ohio. He had been a resident of the Wapello community for 67 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 5 and of the Shrine. On January 3, 1899, Mr. McKINNEY was married to Anna Jane GREENE at Muscatine. She died September 16, 1956.

Four sons and two daughters survive; William Lee McKINNEY, Chicago, Charles Robert, Harvey Raymond and Lorenzo Dow McKINNEY II all of Wapello; Mrs. Ruth ELSTON, Nies, Ohio and Mrs. Marguerite PEASE, of Phoenix, Arizona. One daughter died in infancy. Also surviving are three bothers and a sister: Lorenzo Dow McKINNEY, Morning Sun; Thomas and William McKINNEY, both of Lucasville and Mrs. Mariah MOODY of North Plains, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters died previously.
