Vernon L. HAFNER Called By Death Sunday

Vernon L. HAFNER of Rt. 2, Muscatine died at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 1965 at University hospital, Iowa City, after an extended illness.

He was the son of Guy V. and Aura M. WILLHELME-HAFNER, and was born January 25, 1917 in Muscatine county. He was reared in Louisa county and had farmed 22 years in Moscow Township, Muscatine county.

He married December 31, 1938 in Muscatine to Rosalie HAMMER.

He was a member of Wilton Mithodist Church and the Masonic lodge at Wilton.

Surviving are his wife, one son Dean HAFNER, a student at Missouri State College at Kirksville, Missouri; tow daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Maxwell of Moscow and Sandra HAFNER at home; a brother Max HAFNER of Letts; a sister, Mrs. Jack Estle of Letts; and a grandchild.

He was prceded in death by his parents.

The body was taken to Wilton Methodist church at 11 a.m. Wednesday where funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. by Rev. I. G. Wilkens.

Interment at Memorial Park cemetery.
