JARVIS, SPITZNOGLE, RATEL, HOOPES, JACOBS, GUNZENHAUSER, YOUNG

Max Merritt Jarvis, 54, of Grandview, died Wednesday, Sept 1, 1980 at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services were hle Sept 4, at the Kilpeck Community Friends Church near Muscatine. The Rev. Clyde Hartman officiated and burial was at Parsons Cemetery near Oakville.

Jarvis was born September 20, 1927 at Wapello, the son of Gayle and Louise Spitznogle Jarvis. He married Annabelle Ratel October 24, 1949.

He was a painting contractor and also built and owned from 1969-1976, the Island Grocery Store, Muscatine Island. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Carla Hoopes, Letts, Claudia Jacobs, Muscatine, and Shelley Jarvis at home, a son Gayle Stephen Jarvis, Memphis, Tennessee. his mother Louise Jarvis, of Muscatine, three sisters Dorothy Gunzenhauser, Alice Young and Georgia Van De Mast, all of Muscatine, and a brother Dean Jarvis of Davenport.
