Verl G. Phillips, 68, of Grandview died suddenly Monday, March 24, 1986 at Muscatine General Hospital.

Services will be Thursday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Chapel in Columbus Junction. Rev. Herbert Gotaas will officiate. Burila will be in the Grandview Cemetery.

He was born March 26, 1917, at Grandview the son of Jess and Maude Wheeler Phillips. He married Ethel Fowler December 29, 1945 in Iowa City.

Mr. Phillips has been employed at the Carver Pump, JI Case, and Thatcher Plastics.

He was a member of the Grandview Community Church.

Surviving are his wife; two daughers, Mrs. Wayne (Diana) Ewodt, Muscatine, Mrs. Michael (Barbara) Rust, and one son Danny Phillips of Wapello; three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Anthony, Doris and Tess Phillips all of Grandview; one brother Lloyd Phillips of Columbus Junction and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
