Catherine D. Harkey was born near Grandview, Iowa, October 3, 1872 and died February 14, 1907, near Letts, Iowa, at the age of 34 years, 4 months and 12 days.

She was married to John Harkey in 1888 in Wichita, Kansas. To this union were born eight children. She leaves a husband, eight children, a step-father, an aged mother and many friends to mourn their loss. Two brothers and six sisters preceeded her to the spirit world.

She was saved through the labors of the Salvation Army, at the age of 15 years. She was faithful to the end.

The funeral services were conducted from the United Evangelical Church in Grandview, Iowa and the remains were laid to rest in the Grandview Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. V. Hummel.
