Award Contract For Letts School

Work on the new $65,000 Consolidated school at Letts, Iowa, will probably be begun the early part of next week, according to an announcement made by school board officials. The school will be built on the seven acre plot of ground recently purchased for that purpose, near the old High school site. Contracts on the new building were completed last evening with the opening of the bids. The contract for the plumbing was awarded the Connell Plumbing and Heating company of Iowa City, $3,185 being the contract price, while the general construction work will be in charge of Max Miltonstein of Cedar Rapids, his bid amounting to $42,600. The Stewart and Haden company of Burlington received the contract for seating, their bid amounting to $8,280, while the electrical work will be done by the W. A. Robb Electrical company of Moline for $990, and the Heat Control contract was given the Johnson Service company of Chicago for $1,275.
