This community was somewhat surprised to hear of the marriage of Mr. Everett Wagg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wagg of this vicinity to Miss Maude Wolcott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. V. Wolcott, a prominent building contractor residing at 4437 North Lincoln St., Chicago, Ill. The ceremony took place on October 23, 1917, at the parsonage of the Ravenswood Methodist church, after which the young couple accompanied by Mrs. H. Wagg left Chicago and arrived here early last Wednesday morning.

The news spread rapidly and on Wednesday evening the young couple were equally surprised by a large crowd of charivariers who would not disperse until an oyster supper was promised them on the following Tuesday night.

The groom is one of the best young men of this community, and the numerous friends join in a hearty welcome and best wishes to him and his bride.
