Friends here were surprised to hear of the marriage of Miss Alice Leamon and Mr. C.C. Kemp of Winfield, which occurred Thursday, Sept. 20, in Muscatine.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Sarah Leamon of this city, and she was born and reared here. She is a graduate of the Wapello high school and after graduation spent several years in Cedar Rapids, where she was employed as a stenographer. For the past two years she has been bookkeeper for the Wapello Electric Company, resigning her position last month. She is a very pleasant, winsome young lady and has a host of friends.

The groom is a baker by trade, and is at present employed in a bakery and grocery store at Winfield, where they will make their future home.

The Republican joins with the many friends of the bride in extending congratulations and best wishes.
