Yesterday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's father, E. D. Clegg in Fort Dodge, Iowa, occurred the marriage of Miss Helen Clegg and Mr. Vail E. Thompson of this city. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. O.M. Osgood of the First Baptist church in the presence of about twenty-five relatives and close friends.

The bride is quite well known here, having taught the kindergarten in the local schools two years ago. She was a competent instructor and was re-elected to the position last year, but resigned to accept the same position in the schools of her home town. She is an excellent young lady and has numerous friends here who will welcome her.

The groom is the only son of Mrs. Jessie Thompson of this city, and has spent most of his life here. He is a graduate of the local high school, the State college at Ames, and for the past two years has been highway engineer of this county. Vail is one of Wapello's most likeable young men as well as quite worthy.

The young couple are expected in Wapello today and will go to housekeeping at once in the Mrs. Anna Hook cottage on Isett avenue, where they will be at home to their friends after October 1st.

The Republican takes pleasure in joining with friends in extending best wishes for a happy and prosperous future.
