looking for information on John R. Wetherell and family who moved to Lisbon, Iowa from CT in about 1855... two possible children b. CT., Eva and Edward B.... Sister Alta, b. CT, buried Lisbon Cemetery.... (WPA Records). He volunteered for the 24th Iowa Infantry, was too old, then enlisted in the 35th Iowa Infantry... In 1880 his brother Horace was living with him, in 1895, he and Matilda his wife were living alone...
A brother, George F. Wetherell, was physician in the 26th Iowa, resided Lisbon, then moved to Lyons, IO, another brother, Whiting M.Wetherell, was 1st Lt. in 35th Iowa, and resided Mechanicsville, Iowa... father of this family was Howell Wetherell/Witherell who was in both Lisbon and Lyons Iowa in 1860 and 1870... Family moved from CT about 1855... to best of our knowledge..
