I am trying to find my biological grandfather. My grandmother's name is Carol (Schmadt) and in 1948 she had my father, James in Cedar Rapids IA. He has an older brother, Michael as well by the same man, whose last name is Bishop. I do not know if they were married, and the birth certificates have been changed. They separated when my father was 2 years old and moved to California. I have been told his last name is Bishop by my father's maternal cousin who still lives in the area, but he does not have any further information. Just trying to see if there is a connection.
