Mrs. Emma J. Cleaver died at the family residence, 969 Sixth avenue at 1:50 o'clock Thursday morning following an illness of three weeks.
She was born in Lowden, Iowa, October 10, 1875, the daughter of John and Mary Boyd Smith, and was married at Garner, Iowa to Elton A. Cleaver, October 15, 1897. He was a Milwaukee railroad conductor and died in 1926. She had been a resident of Marion for forty years, having come here a bride. She is survived by three sons, Wayne, Lyle and Elton, all of Marion, two brothers, Harry and August Smith of Marion, and one sister, Mrs. John Holden of Ida Grove. She was a member of the Ladies auxiliary, Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Yocom chapel Saturday afternoon at 9:00 o'clock with Rev. C.S. Bretnall, pastor of the M.E. church of Walker in charge. Burial will be made in Oak Shade cemetery.
