Funeral services for LeRoy (Roy) Kohl, 87, were held at the Morgan Funeral home in Lisbon Feb 8 with the Rev. Kalen Fristad of the Lisbon United Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery with military honors by the Lisbon American Legion.

Mr. Kohl died at Hallmark Nursing home, Mt. Vernon Feb. 4.

Born near Lisbon Sept. 12, 1896, he spent his life in the Lisbon area. He was married to Isabell Oberton Sept. 21, 1918. She died in 1972. He married Bessie Short at Cedar Rapids Dec. 9, 1973.

A retired farmer, he was a veteran of World War I. He was a charter member of the Lisbon American Legion, had served on the Lisbon city council and was active in bringing the Rural Electrification association into the Lisbon area.

He is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Pearl Hugerford and Hazel Atkins, both of Cedar Rapids and Rosena Whitson, Marion; a stepdaughter, Doris Nelson, Ames; a brother, Maurice, Lisbon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 11 step-greatgrandchildren; and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.
