Funeral services for Mildred R. Jilovec, 67, Mt. Vernon, were held June 4 at the First United Church of Lisbon, with the Rev. Kalen Fristad officiating. The body was cremated, with inurnment at the Mount Vernon cemetery.
Mrs. Jilovec died May 31 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was born Oct. 18, 1916 in Marion township. She married Joe Jilovec June 29,1935 in Galena, Ill. She was a resident of the Mount Vernon and Lisbon area for most of her life.
Mrs. Jilovec worked with her husband and family on the family farm near Mt. Vernon and she was a girls' 4-H club leader for 8 years. She was also secretary of the Lisbon-Mt. Vernon Ambulance Boosters.
She is survived by her husband; 5 daughters, Kay Lind, Lisbon; Karen Martin, Mt. Vernon, Eva Murphy, Eugene, Ore., Andrea Jilovec, Des Moines and Denise McAfee, Solon; 5 sons, Keith and Bob, rural Lisbon; Bill and Don, rural Mechanicsville and Steve, rural Mt. Vernon; her mother, Lulu Reimer, Lisbon and 2 sisters, Maxine Williams, Lisbon and Nelavene Beadle, Cedar Rapids.
