Funeral services for Elcy E. Elgin, father of Lyle A. Elgin, were held at United Methodist church, Center Point April 26, with burial in the Center Point cemetery.

Mr. Elgin died at a Cedar Rapids hospital April 23.

He was born at Astoria, Ill. Nov. 15, 1898 and was married to Beulah B. Boyles at Marion July 12, 1919.

He was a retired Linn county road department employee. He had lived in Center Point for 74 years. Mr. Elgin was a member of the Methodist church and a retired member of the Center Point fire department.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Emma Carman, Center Point; 4 sons, Ervin E. and Robert F., both of Center Point; Marvin, Marion and Lyle, Tipton; 3 sisters, Sadie Heefner and Edith Heefner, Cedar Rapids and Grace Smith, Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, John W., Center Point; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
