Mary E. May, 71, wife of Herman May 1005 F Avenue NW, died Friday. Born April 28, 1891, at LeMars, she had lived in Cedar Rapids 48 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's church and Mercy hospital auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; a son, John P. May of Berwyn, Pa.; a brother, Frank Stemper of Independence; four sisters, Frances Holsinger and Mrs. George Johnson, both of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Lawrence Higgins and Mrs. Howard Higgins, both of Independence, and three grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Alice, died in 1934.

The body is at the Monahan-Stewart funeral home. Services: Monday at St. Patrick's church; Burial: Mt Calvary.
