WALKER - Funeral services were held today for Lyle Ford, 51, who was killed Thursday in a head-on crash 10 miles north of Cedar Rapids. Rites were at 2 p.m. in the United Church of Walker. Burial was at Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, where the American Legion, conducted services.

Mr. Ford, a mechanic and resident of Walker for five years, was born May 28, 1912, at Central City. He was married to Gwendoline Jones July 17, 1945, in England.

He was a graduate of Urbana High School and was graduated from the University of Iowa in 1941. During World War II he served with the Air Force in England. Mr. Ford was a member of the Ray Post 376 of the American Legion and adjutant of Linn County Legion.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Linda and Judith; two sons, Alan and David, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Eugene Burrichter of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. George Easterley of Park Ridge, N.J., and Mrs. Harry Smith of Walker; two brothers, Robert Ford of Millersville, Pa., and Richard Ford of Marion.

Mr. Ford was a cousin of Mrs. Rand Woodhouse of Vinton. Mrs. Lyle Ford is the Walker news correspondent to the Cedar Valley Times.
