Robert Kvach (88) of Cedar Rapids passed away on August 5, 2021. A visitation will be held on Monday August 9, 2021 from 9am-10am at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. The family will be holding a private graveside service with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert Louis Kvach was born June 23, 1933 in Cedar Rapids; the son of Louis and Hazel Kvach.
He raced Harley Davidson motorcycles on the beach at Daytona in 1958-1959 riding for the factory.
Bob was united in marriage to Gayle Johnston July 22, 1961 in Cedar Rapids. In 1970 he worked at Duane Arnold Energy Center. His safety belt came unhooked and he had a 1” re rod go through his body.

Starting in 1970 he went to Daytona Beach and worked on Ramo Stott’s race car until 1988 when he retired. He attended 58 years in a row at Daytona.

Bob was a home builder and made homebuilder of the year in 1994. He was in construction all his life.

Robert is survived by his wife Gayle, son Brad (Diana), a granddaughter Jayci, 2 brothers Jim (Loretta) and Donald (Aldie); 2 sisters Loretta (Don) Vanourney of Tucson, Arizona and Judy Owens of Grand Junction, Colorado and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
