Mildred A. Titus, 99, of Marion, died Wednesday night at the Winslow House Care Center, Marion.
She was born Sept. 21, 1883 at Aurora.
Miss Titus taught school at Prairieburg before moving to Marion in 1912. She was Marion city clerk for 11 years, was a justice of the peace for eight years and served for many years on the election board in her precinct. She also was active in the Methodist Church and Red Cross and was instrumental in organizing the credit rating service in Marion.
A nephew and two nieces survive.
Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, by the Rev. Dick Watkins of First United Methodist Church.
